PLEASE VOTE “NO” TO RETAIN A JUDGE!

The Judges in the U.S. Courts of law are given tremendous power
over the people. An incompetent and/or dishonest lawyer presiding in a
court can destroy the wellbeing and lives of many. Position of a Judge
must carry a tremendous burden of responsibility. But in reality, in
Illinois, the judges are rarely held accountable for their work. To be
retained in office for another term, a judge must get 60% “yes” vote from
the electors voting on the question.
Amazingly, even highly publicized incompetence and poor performance by
a judge usually fails to affect the vote. Too many people just punch “yes” on
their ballots to retain a judge without being informed to any degree whatsoever with
regard to the candidate. Most of the people who have had an encounter with our legal
system will agree that the “NO” vote to retain a judge has a much higher probability
of being the correct one.
